<%@LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT"%> Scott Stroman - Jazz Performer

As a trombonist and singer, he has performed with Billy Cobham, David Liebman, Dizzy Gillespie, Randy Brecker, Kenny Wheeler, and others. He directs the London Jazz Orchestra and co-leads the Wellins/Stroman Quintet with British saxophonist Bobby Wellins and the international group North by NorthWest with Billy Cobham and Swedish saxophonist Cennet Jönsson. He has also produced recordings with the London Jazz Orchestra, Stroman-Jönsson Project, Eclectic Voices, Guildhall Jazz Band with Kenny Wheeler and with John Taylor, and New York gospel artist L.D. Frazier. Currently he is not performing as a trombonist while rebuilding his embrouchure after an attack of Bell’s Palsy. However, he maintains his performing profile as a jazz singer.

His two latest recordings, Stroman-Jönsson Project I (on trombone) and Jazz Mass (singer and director) will be released in December 2006 on 33 Records.

He has been Head of Jazz at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and director of the award-winning Guildhall Jazz Band since 1983. Their latest recording, with pianist John Taylor, will be released soon on CAM Jazz. Their recording with Kenny Wheeler, Walk Softly, is available on Wave Records.
